Had a great day pre-riding the route today including  taste-testing at Lone Star BBQ (hey - somebody's gotta check this stuff out ).   I even twisted Keith's arm a bit until he agreed to join me - it didn't take much, it was a great day to play hooky and go for a ride!

I'm very glad we checked this route ... spring has sprung and there are bouquets of orange road construction signs bloomin' all over the dang place.   There were three detours for road work that look to last through the summer.  The first one was worst so I've changed that route segment; the second two I've decided to live with.  The Henderson meet up slips about fifteen minutes to 12:30; lunch should be about 1:10p.

As far as gas stops, Marshall is 130 miles from the Henderson Shell station.  Otherwise its 110 miles from lunch to Marshall - currently, I'm not planning a gas stop in St. Peter.  Let me know if 130 miles extends past your "comfort range".

The Lone Star is a great spot for BBQ!  While I encourage members to join us to support Marshall for the weekend event ... if you cannot make the full trip, consider joining us for the lunch ride on that Friday.

I added a gas stop in Morgan - 80 miles after Henderson.  No need for anxiousness.

Glad to hear about the gas stop as we usually stop about every 100 miles just to be safe. Plus it's a good time to get off and re-hydrate when it is hot out.

Understood and agreed, Pat.  The 110 mile segment from St. Peter to Marshall will be broken up with the new gas stop at 60 miles, then 50 on to Marshall.

The ride to the 475 event (or even just lunch) is actually a 444 ride.  Please make sure you have a signed 444 ride waiver already submitted, have one filled out ready for Rich to collect, or be prepared to fill one out (please allow a bit of extra time for this last option).
