Hillsboro WI weekend trip

Sorry if I'm being picky, but when I attempted to add a Google Maps link to "12370 W Point Douglas Rd, Hastings" I get a church, not our usual meeting spot at the Holiday station at The Point (12378 Point Douglas Dr S, Hastings) - a couple miles further south.

Think about whether or not you will be staying for the chicken dinner feed mid-day Sunday in Rockton (near Hillsboro). I will take a count the day we arrive in Hillsboro, and then phone in a "reservation" for those who plan to go.

I can't join you this year but I know you'll have a great weekend!  I don't know if you've talked more about this within the group, or if you remember stopping at Rockton Bar (just not on a chicken-feed-sunday), but this is quite a weekly event!!

For those of you joining the ride at The Point.  Pat and I will be meeting for breakfast at The North Pole in Newport just a few miles north of The Point.  We plan on being there at 8:45.

Head north on Hwy 65 and take the Glen Rd exit.  Head east.  At the stop sign make a sharp left.  Go past the SA station, turn right and The North Pole is in the little mall on the right.

Great food and reasonable prices.

One more comment on the chicken dinner - the food has been terrific, and the price is very reasonable. I think the half-chicken, beans, and salad were $9.50.

Due to a foot injury, Kim won't be able to ride her bike to Hillsboro. She will be driving a chase vehicle instead. If anyone has something they want her to carry for them, let us know ahead of time, or at the rendezvous.

Thanks Rick for a great weekend. The country side was beautiful, the food very tasty, and the many curves overwhelming, but conquered. I can hardly wait to go again next year.

We're glad everyone had fun. 292 has been talking this place up for a long time, and I think the secret is finally out. For those who wish to join us in 2018, we reserved a block of rooms again. The dates we reserved are June 22 - 25 and they are under my name.  Another motorcycle group likes the same weekend, and they had already blocked out 20 rooms at the hotel, so we thought we had better get with the program.  It is a prime weekend between Father's Day and the weekend that precedes the 4th of July.  We are toying with the idea of putting on our own poker run next year.

The poker run sponsored by the hotel will be a week later next year on June 30.
