Rides / Memorial day ride - Sun, 05-27...

This is a fundraiser for the DAVMN. the ride will begin at my home in saint francis. arrive between 8:30 and 9 for a lite breakfast KTU 9:30, we should be back for a BBQ by 4pm, the ride will go up the west side of milacs back down the east side about 180 miles. there will be a representative from DAVMN to receive the donations. I will provide envelopes for the donations at May meetings. Its important that I know how many folks plan to go don't want to run out of food. Lets try to make this a success.

I still have a day job that gets in the way of my riding. I can likely go except for the dates above. Thank you for organizing and planning. This trip sounds awesome!

Rides / The View Motel Ride
Last post by Ted and Judy Drake - March 07, 2018, 02:12:25 PMIf there is enough interest, I would like to plan a midweek trip to the View in Elizabeth, IL. I'm thinking a three night stay, so that we would have a scenic ride down on day one, two full days to explore the area, and a day to take a different route home. It could either be a Monday through Thursday, or a Tuesday through Friday. I would also consider cutting back on a day of exploring and making it a three day trip.
Andy has 11 rooms, four with one queen, and 7 with 2 queens. I would like to book the whole motel, but Andy indicated that if we had enough interest that he would close the place to the general public. The week day rates are $69 for a single and $74 for a double, plus tax.
The View is 10 miles South of Galena, which is a beautiful Historic Town, but also a popular tourist destination. The area should offer plenty of nice hilly riding in either Western IL. or Eastern Iowa.
If permitted, I will plan on discussing this briefly at the meeting this Saturday.
Hope to see many of you there.

Rides / Hillsboro WI Weekend Trip
Last post by Rick Gorter - January 23, 2018, 08:08:51 AMOur annual trip to Hillsboro WI is scheduled for Friday, June 22 - Monday, June 24, 2018. A block of rooms is being held at the Hotel Hillsboro - 608-489-3000, under STAR or my name RICK GORTER. If you wish to attend, and no rooms are available, let me know since we may have rooms reserved that we can let go. If you cannot attend for all four days, come for a portion of the trip. Hillsboro is a small town east of La Crosse, WI, and the hotel is a really nice, reasonably-priced hotel with a bar/restaurant attached to it. This is Mississippi bluff country, and the roads are terrific.
Our tentative plan is to ride down to Hillsboro on Friday, hold our own Poker Ride on Saturday, more riding on Sunday morning, and attending the "Chicken Feed" at the Rockton Bar on Sunday at noon. We'll head home on Monday. Most of Chapter 292 has made this trip multiple times, so you can ask questions of any of them.
